Foster Made is looking to hire a talented JavaScript developer with experience developing with React and React Native. This is a full-time position for an experienced front-end developer who’s ready to jump in and contribute thoughtfully executed code. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, can lead by example, and thrives in a collaborative team environment. Excellent communication skills are also a must.

What we can expect from you
Experience & Ability
You have the following experience in a professional setting as your primary job function:
- JavaScript development
- React/React Native development
- Experience with Git and coding in a team environment
- CSS/Sass and/or Tailwind CSS
- Experience integrating with backend services (both in-house and third-party) such as REST and GraphQL
- Able to provide “man-hour” or “level of effort” estimates for tasks
- Experience with JS tooling, e.g. Webpack, ESLint, Prettier
- Familiarity with JAMStack
- Experience with deploying applications to web servers and submitting apps to the Apple/Google App Stores
- Comfortable working with both on-site and remote team members
Not required, but would love to know if you have experience with:
- Leading teams and projects
- Working in an Agile development environment
- iOS or Android native development
- Automated testing and code review
- Open source contribution and/or technology writing/speaking

- Content Management: ExpressionEngine, Craft, WordPress, and Contentful
- PHP Frameworks: Symfony, Laravel, and Yii
- Misc: Algolia, Twillio, MapBox, Segment, Typescript, Expo
Philosophy & Approach
- You’re a great communicator and are comfortable sharing your thoughts both verbally and in writing.
- You understand the nuances of JavaScript, e.g. variable hoisting, double vs triple equals, and let vs const.
- You have a good grasp of programming fundamentals, e.g. Object-oriented design, functional programming, best practices, and testing.
- You're a quick learner, and you love finding solutions to challenging problems.
- You're a hard worker that is willing to put your head down and tackle the hard stuff – but you're no hero. You know when to call for reinforcements.
- Details matter to you. You eat linters for lunch!
- You work well individually as well as on small teams. A fast-paced environment is just as comfortable to you as working on larger, long-term projects.
- You realize the world of tech is constantly evolving, and you're hungry to stay up-to-date with the latest ECMAScript updates and framework enhancements. At the same time, you're pragmatic and understand that chasing the newest technology isn't always prudent.
