How it started

Revamp site to drive business outcomes

Following Foster Made’s redesign and rebuild of the Apex Learning Virtual School website, Edmentum, ALVS’ parent company, brought us on board for their own site’s redesign. Their objectives were similar: amplify the brand and improve user experiences to drive business outcomes – in this case, lead generation.

Research & Discovery

Understanding user needs

Edmentum provided a fixed deadline to accommodate in-house development of their new site. This required an expedited research phase that began with a discovery workshop and included user journey mapping and stakeholder interviews. We learned that outstanding customer care is a key differentiator for the Edmentum brand. We also identified the need to help visitors better understand Edmentum’s many products and their benefits.

UX/UI Design

Intuitive & dynamic

The new site was designed to better communicate who Edmentum is as a brand and to clarify and simplify its messaging. By identifying where audience priorities overlap, we were able to organize and prioritize content based on user needs. Similarly, we took into consideration school district and educator requirements for state standards, creating a dynamic experience that changes based on the visitor’s location.

Development

Tech strategy & partnership

Although Edmentum’s development team will be building the new site, Foster Made was brought on board to provide guidance around search, accessibility, site optimization, and quality assurance. Specifically, for search, Foster Made recommended Algolia, a best-in-class composable search platform, and proposed a three-phase approach that would incorporate more advanced AI features over time.

The end result

Exceeding expectations

Foster Made was able to meet Edmentum’s deadline and exceeded expectations when it came to clear, clean content organization and visual identity. When the new site launches, we anticipate a significant increase in lead generation, as well as a boost to overall brand affinity.
