How It Started
Fast, tech-forward brand implementation.
Maxio approached Foster Made with a totally new brand to implement and a very ambitious timeline. The goal: to launch a tech-forward MVP website in just 17 weeks and in alignment with Maxio’s own tech-forward branding. As a first step, Foster Made executed a lean research and discovery process to prioritize pages and features and get things rolling as fast as possible.

Maxio had an exciting new brand – the kind our designers love to work with – which needed to be translated to web. Working closely with Maxio’s own in-house designers, as well as their content strategists was key to meeting their ambitious deadline for launch. Also, to keep things moving along at a fast clip, design and development work was executed in batches and in tandem. Design would hand off UI elements to developers as they were ready. Content work was also happening up until launch.

How did we pull it off? True collaboration, good communication, and mutual respect. Everyone stayed in sync throughout the project, communicating clearly where they were with various aspects of the project. It also helped that our teams spoke the same tech language and followed similar design principles and agile processes. Foster Made and Maxio designers worked in tandem as part of a unique design collaboration, maximizing efficiency and speeding up the overall process.
Technology
Best-in-class tech for best-in-class tech.
As a best-in-class SaaS tech company, it was important to Maxio to invest in backend technology that not only performs well, but also aligns with their future-forward ethos and brand. As a result, we delivered a Jamstack implementation for a fast, reliable, and secure web experience. We leveraged Contentful, an API-first content delivery platform, in order to architect durable content infrastructure and craft content-first experiences to meet Maxio’s growing needs. We also used React and Next.js for static site generation, and a globally-available CDN for distribution.
SEO
A strategy to maintain search ranking.
Merging two successful brands into one brand (and website) has significant implications for SEO. We worked closely with our partners at Workshop Digital to ensure a smooth transition and reduce the impact to site traffic and search rankings. They benchmarked key performance indicators, performed in-depth keyword research, and provided a hierarchical content strategy to help search engines navigate Maxio resources. Based on Workshop’s recommendations, we also kept the Chargify and SaaSOptics sites live past the Maxio site launch to allow search engines time to crawl and index the new site properly.
The end result
Performance and design without compromise.
Hitting Maxio’s aggressive launch deadline was a big win. Hitting the deadline with a website that beautifully represented their new brand, had super fast load times and didn’t compromise their SEO rankings was even bigger. But that wasn’t the end result. From the beginning we recommended an iterative approach. Since launching the MVP site, we’ve added new pages and features and optimized performance through retained services. The true end result – we forged a successful, ongoing partnership to ensure Maxio’s site grows alongside their business.
